“Pierre Omer's Swing Revue is a jazz and swing band, and certainly not the umpteenth mainstream variation of a style that is too often reduced, especially in our chauvinistic latitudes, to that gypsy jazz that has become as unappealing as a Jeanne Calmant by dint of being served up to us in every mercantile and consensual sauce. With Pierre Omer's Swing Revue, jazz remains that adventurous style which, for over a hundred years, has managed to evolve and renew itself on the bangs of a business which, in the end, doesn't really know what to do with it other than to shove it into a variety fascon in an attempt to make it fit in. Fortunately, there are still a few die-hards (in this case, Helvetians rather than Gauls) who continue to resist the scornful, cheapened ease of low-grade muzak.”
